Cool Fall days tempt the bugs to find warmth inside a home. Poor Mercedes recently found one of these, now a dead wasp, by our sliding glass door and tried to eat it (as she does with everything she can get her hands on). The result was a poke on her little lip by the stinger, ouch!!! Her lip began to swell up pretty quick and the pediatrician said I should bring her in just to take a look. They gave her some benadryl and as the sleepiness came, her cries lessened… But she looked like a case of bad botox for the evening!

What a scary thing to happen to such a cutie! We hope that she will continue her interest in “bugs” and not remember this hurtful happening.

I LOVE the before and after shots….little sweetheart!!!
Oh my Gosh, poor Mercedes!!! She is so darling! (I don’t think I have ever used that word as an adjective, so it’s high praise!)
That is really scary! Kaia would totally do the same thing!
Poor little sweetheart. She is just so adorable before and after. Nana sends hugs and kisses, wish I could be there to pour some loving on her.
Oh, poor Mercedes! That does not sound fun.
I couldn’t help but laugh when I looked at the pictures and read the story. I know it probably was NOT at all funny at the time, but what a cute little picture to remember a run in with a wasp. Praise God she wasn’t seriously allergic!
The apartment we are staying in now is infested with ants and Josiah has mastered the small motor skills necessary to pick them up and eat them. Disgusting, but at least they don’t have stingers!
